The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT),
Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise has scheduled a Public Information Open House
for the Widening of Florida’s Turnpike from Griffin Road to Atlantic
Boulevard in Broward County (see Project Location Map). The Open House will
be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the
Holiday Inn (now known as the Plantation Hotel and Conference Center), 1711 N.
University Drive, Plantation, FL.
In
the event that the Open House cannot be held on August 16, 2005 due to severe
weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the alternate date
of Thursday, September 1, 2005 at the same time and place. This Open
House is being held as part of the Design for the project and is being
conducted to afford persons the opportunity to view the final locations of
the sound barrier walls along the project. Drawings, maps, graphics, and
other pertinent information developed by the FDOT will be available at the Open
House from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Representatives from Florida’s Turnpike
Enterprise will be on hand to discuss the project.
Under Title VI and Title VIII of the Civil
Rights Act, any person(s) or beneficiary who believes they have been
discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, national
origin, disability, or familial status may file a written complaint with the
FDOT’s Minority Programs Office, 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, Florida
32399-0450. Anyone needing special assistance under the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1990 must contact Jeffrey LeClaire, P.E., at least seven (7)
days prior to the Open House by telephone at (954) 975-4855, extension 3826, or
